TMJ Cured

About Dr. Taylor

Graduated in 1950 from the University of Southern California with a BS and DDS degrees, Dr. Taylor has been actively and continuously practicing dentistry for over fifty years with a well rounded professional background.

Early in his dental career, he conducted diagnosis screening for the Navy as part of his 2 year experience at Main Dental Clinic in San Diego.

He then started his pediatric practice followed by a volunteer 5 year teaching career at USC School of Dentistry. This event spurred his interest in teaching particularly after finding the Charles Stuart courses starting in the 1970s. He studied with Dr. Stuart and Swab for many years before starting his own institute in 1993. He has lectured, published and taught gnathology.

The main thrust of his practice has been to help people with TMJ. Although there are several minor disagreements with the masters, his end product has always been successful.

His book describes the actual method to change the bite to achieve the relief necessary to heal the TM joint. This technique is called "occlusal correction". It involves grinding small spots on the tops of the teeth to allow the mandible to seat in the rearmost hinge posture. This posture relieves the strain on the TM joint and allows it to heal. This procedure has been avoided because of the disasters caused by inadequate training. One of the main points in the book is the controversy and confusion brought about by the lack of consensus of good occlusion.
